Queer Peer Meetup

  • Virtual - Register at bit.ly/queerpeersmeet (map)

The Equi Institute is hosting a monthly Queer Peer Meet-Up! Our next meeting is scheduled for this Thursday, April 11th from 10a-12p and will happen monthly on the 2nd Thursdays.

This meet-up is specific to peer workers (THWs, CHWs, CRMs, PWS, PSS...etc) that are LGBTQAI2S+ identified or work directly with LGBTQAI2S+ people and will combine peer learning with guest presenters, anonymous case conferencing, and network building. This space is facilitated by The Equi Institute's Lead Community Health Worker, Madeline Adams (she/they) with the goal of inviting other folks in the group to facilitate, if they're interested, on a rotating basis.

Topics we’ve covered in the past:

  • Self-Care in Peer Work

  • Narcan Training

  • Working with Folks Experiencing Non-Consensus Reality

Working with LGBTQAI2S+ folks comes with its own unique challenges and strategies, especially when you share that identity with the people you are serving. This space will be a place to commiserate, strategize, jointly address barriers and challenges, learn from each other, build stronger referral networks, and support each other in our work.

Please share with anyone you think might benefit from participating in this group.
